Arima Toys & Automata Museum
The course including this spot : One of Japan's top three ancient hot spring villages

Charming museum which is great for adults and children alike

Spread over many different floors, the Arima Toys & Automata Museum has an impressive display of toys from throughout the ages. Older visitors will be nostalgic to see toys from their childhood - a personal favourite is the models of Thunderbirds character Parker made specially for display in the museum - and will marvel at the craftsmanship involved to make the detailed wooden nutcrackers and traditional German toys. Children will love playing with the wooden blocks and tactile toys, and adults will titter at the tongue-in-cheek automata. This is a great place to take the whole family - just make sure you leave plenty of time to fiddle and play with all the interactive displays.
