Enjoy the natural wonder of Japan's greatest sand dunes
Short trip from Osaka to Tottori

I recommend this course!

Yō Ryū / I'm from China, Inner Mongolia / I have lived in Japan for 16 years.

Profile

16 years ago in the spring, I came to Tottori Prefecture as an exchange student.
I conducted a job search there after completing my Master's; I now work at the TNIO Northwest Pacific Region Economic Center where I introduce visitors from both Japan and abroad to the beauty of this place.
I work earnestly every day in the hopes of having more visitors from abroad come and feel the simple, rural charm of the land wash over them.

While Tottori is the smallest prefecture in Japan in terms of population, it has the largest sand dunes in the nation. The coastline views are spectacular, and in 2010 the dunes were formally recognized as a UNESCO Global Geopark. Tottori is replete with blessings: ocean as well as mountains, rich agriculture and natural resources, delicious seafood such as Matsuba crab and flathead flounder in the winter, and sweet fruits such as pears, persimmons, and watermelon in the summer. For that reason, it is called a capital for gourmets, and a treasury of the delicacies of mountain and sea. Whether it's to enjoy the fresh air as you wander through inviting streets or warming yourself down to your soul at an onsen (hot springs) why not come see the delights that Tottori has to offer?
