Japan's preeminent semi-tropical resort on the island of Honshu
Short trip from Osaka to Nanki Shirahama

I recommend this course!

Zhang, Sihan / I'm from Taiwan, Taichung / I have lived in Japan for 1.5 years.

Profile

I was born in Taiwan, on the beautiful island known as Formosa. I was once an exchange student at Niigata University and will never forget my days spent studying in the gorgeous "snow country" as described by Yasunari Kawabata. That period was the most amazing time of my youth..
I am currently involved with tourism promotion work at the Shirahama Tourist Association of Wakayama prefecture. When I encountered the scenic beauty of Nanki Shirahama, with its location on the Pacific coast, unique natural surroundings, and charming old-fashioned hot springs, I fell in love with the place.

Shirahama is a beachside resort that is the pride of the Kansai region. It offers opportunities to view gorgeous scenery, enjoy natural hot springs, visit a beach with white sand and green pine trees, and experience wonders created by nature, including Engetsuto islet, Senjojiki rock, and the Sandanbeki cliffs. Shirahama hot spring is one of Japan's ancient hot springs, with a history dating back to the time of the Manyo poems. With its rich history, Saki-no-yu is one of seven famed baths that include those loved by the emperor and imperial family. The open-air bath faces the Pacific Ocean and allows bathers to take in expansive views as they soak in its waters. An invitation to take a journey of self-discovery visiting the baths of Nanki Shirahama is one that will create precious memories.
